Part 2
Moser2004a

(left) La Moser, 2004.

The summer of 2005 will be remembered for its uncharacteristic weather. Both the Moser and the Girolaguna rides took place on cold, rainy days--what a shame. Having had my fill of being wet, cold, and miserable, I stayed home, as did everyone else I know.

(note the bad habit of almost everyone in the photo: when riding in a group, your hands should always be on the hoods or drops, ready to brake in an instant).

(below) GF Pinarello, 2001. San Lorenzo, a lovely but scorching little climb that has everyone stopping for water...both to drink and to douse themselves with. It wasn't on the route for a few years, but returned to the long course in 2006, and will be on the short course in 2009.
